Vi bastante gente criticando o episódio por tão ter nada de exatamente importante, mas vi esse textinho aqui que dá uma explicada e achei lindo *segue com tradução livre*
People misunderstand the intention behind this episode. It’s not filler, nor is it unnecessary. The political conflict on watermelon island is a parallel to the current discourse on Homeworld. The watermelons with stars can be likened to the Crystal Gems, and the tribal melons being Homeworld gems. Furthermore, when Watermelon Steven has his star removed, it shows how Steven is both a Crystal Gem and a Diamond - he is the gateway between the two opposing factions. Steven uniting the two tribes on watermelon island through the need for escape is similar to how Blue and Yellow Diamond will likely side with the Crystal Gems in order to break free from White Diamond’s authority, to escape from Homeworld just as Steven had to find means to leave the island. This episode is alluding (or perhaps acts as a prelude) to BOHAM. It’s actually brilliant foreshadowing using narrative structure. Escapism is a fantastic episode, y’all just missed the point of it.
-Basicamente está falando que as pessoas não entenderam o ep, que ele não é desnecessário. O conflito de políticas na ilha melancia é um paralelo com o que está acontecendo em Homeworld. As melancias com estrela são como as Crystal Gems, e as melancias tribais sendo as gems de Homeworld. Quando o Watermelon Steven tem sua estrela retirada, mostra que Steven é tanto uma Crystal Gem como um Diamond e ele juntando as duas tribos pela necessidade de escapar, é semelhante com como Blue e Yellow provavelmente vão se juntar com as Crystal Gems para fugir do autoritarismo da White. Brilhante foreshadowing.

Como eu chorei vendo esse episódio, só não desidratei porque tinha uma garrafinha de água hahahhah Rebecca Sugar dona do meu ser, simplesmente genial como tudo foi se encaixando e nos fazendo cada vez mais emocionados com cada acontecimento. Tive até que dar um pause no episódio na parte que a White arranca o diamond do Steven, porque eu quase tive um ataque de asma hahauhauha posso dizer com toda tranquilidade do mundo que se se a série acabasse aqui, eu estaria feliz e satisfeita. Simplesmente foi tudo perfeito. Não faço ideia de onde a menina açúcar vai arranjar mais história, mas estou feliz por saber que não é o fim < 3
